About Cheryl

I'm Cheryl Paris, a clinical hypnotherapist and stress recovery coach based in Berkshire.

I help high-performing professionals, especially women, calm work-related anxiety so they can stop overthinking, sleep better, feel steadier and make clearer decisions.

Work-related anxiety does not always look dramatic from the outside.

Sometimes it looks like being prepared, being responsible, and checking everything twice. Rehearsing conversations in your head. Reading emails five times before replying. Feeling sick before meetings. Waking at 2:03 a.m. while your brain starts its unpaid night shift.

Lovely little system, anxiety. Very committed. Terrible boundaries.

The people I work with often look capable and composed, but inside, they feel:

on edge
watched
judged
not good enough
one mistake away from being exposed
unable to switch off
trapped in what-if thinking

You may recognise yourself here if:

Your mind keeps replaying work conversations long after they are over.

You dread opening emails or messages because one sentence can ruin your whole body.

You lie awake imagining everything that could go wrong.

You over-prepare because anything less feels unsafe

You feel anxious before meetings, presentations, appraisals or difficult conversations

You struggle to trust yourself, even when you are competent

You keep scanning for signs you have upset someone, missed something or failed somehow

You are tired of being told to "stop worrying", as if that had never occurred to you

My work helps you move from anxious looping to steadier ground.

That may mean:

feeling calmer before meetings or difficult conversations

reducing overthinking and mental replay

sleeping better because your mind is not doing night shifts

feeling safer in your own body

trusting your decisions more

responding instead of reacting

building confidence without pretending anxiety never shows up

This is not about telling you your anxiety is silly.
Training, Qualifications & Experience

My work focuses on high-performing professionals dealing with work-related anxiety, overthinking, rumination, panic spikes, sleep disruption, people-pleasing, perfectionism, fear of mistakes, difficulty speaking up and feeling unable to switch off from work.

I use hypnotherapy and coaching to help clients calm their stress response, understand their anxiety patterns and build practical tools for real situations.

This may include support with:

pre-meeting anxiety
email anxiety
fear of conflict
presentation nerves
overthinking after conversations
Sleep disruption linked to worry
imposter feelings
people-pleasing and over-explaining
anxiety around workload, performance or being judged

My approach is shaped by the ABGW Method®, which stands for Awareness, Balance, Growth and Win-Win Wellbeing.

In practice, this means we work with:

Awareness: noticing the anxiety pattern without turning it into your identity
Balance: calming the body so the mind can function properly
Growth: building small, repeatable shifts that create confidence over time
Win-Win Wellbeing: creating change that supports your life, rather than demanding you become someone else
Areas Of Hypnotherapy I Work With

My specialist area is work-related anxiety for high-performing professionals.

I support clients who want to:

Stop overthinking every email, meeting or conversation

feel calmer before work or difficult interactions

Reduce anxious replay after meetings

sleep better instead of spiralling at night

trust themselves more under pressure

speak up without panic, guilt or over-explaining

feel less controlled by fear of judgment or mistakes

cCalmthe body before anxiety takes over the whole day

Stop confusing anxiety with personal failure

This work may be especially relevant if:

You are outwardly capable but inwardly anxious

You feel responsible for everyone else's reactions

You struggle to switch off after work

You worry you are not doing enough, even when you are doing too much

You feel anxious about being seen, judged, challenged or misunderstood

You avoid rest because the second you stop, your mind starts shouting
